Why Scheduling Matters and How to Do It in Essentialize

If your brain isn’t properly prepared for deep work, you’ll waste time shifting between tasks, struggling to focus, and feeling overwhelmed before you even start.


For years, I dealt with this same problem. I'd sit at my desk, stare at my to-do list, and feel utterly unmotivated. Any attempt to start working felt slow, forced, and easily interrupted by the urge to do anything else. I’d end up doomscrolling, browsing the internet, or tackling low-effort tasks just to feel productive—when in reality, I was just avoiding real work.


It wasn’t until my husband pointed it out that I realized the problem: I wasn’t preparing my brain for focus.




So, I cultivated a morning routine to ease into my workday. Instead of trying to force productivity, I started my day with a few simple habits:


A cup of coffee – A simple ritual to signal the start of the day.

📖 30 minutes of reading – To engage my mind and spark creativity.

📝 Reviewing my schedule & setting priorities – So I always knew what to tackle first.


This small shift changed everything. I stopped wasting time and started my work feeling focused, clear, and in control.

How to create a new task in the Essentialize app


Ready to map out your day? Download the Essentialize app from the Play Store or App Store  and add your first task by following these steps:



1️⃣  Open the schedule screen

Access your go-to space for organizing tasks by tapping the calendar icon in the bottom navigation.


2️⃣ Tap the “+” button

Tapping the "+" button in the bottom right corner of the screen will get you started on adding a new task.






3️⃣ Enter the details 

Add the following:


🔵 What you want to do;

🔵 If it's a task, appointment, or event;

🔵 Its priority level (high, medium, low);

🔵 If it happens once or if it's recurring;

🔵 How long it should take;


4️⃣ Select the related value

Everything you do should be connected to something you value. This will make sure you are working on things that matter deeply to you.


5️⃣  Set recurring tasks (if needed)

Choose how often it repeats, then select the time of day you want to do this task.




6️⃣ Choose a date & time (if needed)

If it’s a one-time task, just set when it’s due.


7️⃣ Check It Off When Complete

Stay on track by marking tasks as done either in your schedule or your accompanying to-do list.
